Abiding by his trademark of a modern yet minimalist design approach, Ar. Manish Dikshit yet again worked his irrevocable charm and revolutionized the expanse. While speaking to us, the Architect shared some insights in terms of Layout, Design & Décor, Challenges and USP.

The Layout:

The four bedroom duplex comprises an entrance lobby, bar, dining area, living room, kitchen and guest bedroom with a large balcony for the living area & guest bedroom having a marvelous view of the outside. The luxurious apartment was split into one master bedroom, two bedrooms meant for the kids and one guest room. Keeping up with the latest trends, the kid’s bedroom has been dolled up in a theme which is reflective of their personas. Meticulously designed, the entire house has an eloquent yet extraordinary décor. The peaceful yet modernist décor paints a picture of order and uniformity. Another fascinating feature of this penthouse is its ‘height’, and being the focal point a pragmatic design scheme has been persevered.

Design & Décor:

Meticulously designed, The Pinnacle house, designed by Aum Architects, has an eloquent and extraordinary décor. The living room is divided into an informal lobby space and a tropical foliage has been set up along the wall of the staircase on the right. A diagonal pattern has been fabricated on the floor to dissociate this area visually. At the periphery, four fluted glass panels framed in MS frame have been placed exuding a glamorous touch to the set up. The formal living room consists of a seating area as well as the dining. The silhouettes of the tropical jungle are infused in the backdrop and the intention behind it was to add a surprise element. Pursuing the tropical theme, the master bedroom has ample of colored accents. The focal wall is painted in citron shade with diagonal bands painted in a lighter tone. The master bedroom has a rich South American inspiration owing to which ‘black marquina’ marble flooring has been used to make a stark impact. The son’s bedroom was hugely inspired by science fiction and technologies. ‘Steampunk’, a subgenre of science fiction and fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs. For the daughter’s room, a relatively unique concept was implemented in the designs. ‘French Riviera’- a Mediterranean coastline in the southeast corner of France is where all the inspiration was derived from. The Pinnacle House stays true to its name as it unfolds a breathtaking experience that is experienced only at the top, thus portraying an architectural marvel.

Articulated to illustrate a breathtaking view, the entrance lobby has been rendered a posh outlook by using Michelangelo marble. The same marble has been innovatively implied on different surfaces such as the door and all vertical surfaces. Leaving no stone unturned to penetrate custom made mosaic in the same marble, metal inlay and use of wooden rafters are some of the elements that have been heavily used. In the master bedroom, Rich South American inspiration owing to the ‘black marquina’ marble flooring has been used to make a stark impact. A remarkable feature of the dining area is the vault ceiling. In the son’s bedroom the Hexagonal suspended sheets on the ceiling aided to be a prominent feature of this spectacular house.

Challenges:

One of the biggest challenges was the delivery of certain materials in terms of logistics to bring it up over doorstep. It was a daunting task to install windows of the size we decided on. We installed 24 feet in three parts, which was 8 feet of each window which was a tough task in terms of transport. The second challenge was redesigning the house which was designed by us 6 years ago.  To redesign the whole space again from our own design earlier with the new concept was a big challenge.  Highlighting an incident, the architect shares, “The door was the biggest challenge, because the total weight of the door itself came up to 750kgs.  So it was challenging to get the hardware fittings & taking care of the wind pressure also in an open apartment. “

USP:

This penthouse has a chic factor at every nook & corner. For instance, the guest bedroom has a large balcony which gives a marvellous view outside. This is an added bonus for the patrons as the stupendous view adds an element of thrill in the house. The living room is divided into an informal lobby space and dense tropical foliage has been set up along the wall of the staircase on the right. A diagonal pattern has been fabricated on the floor to dissociate this area visually. At the periphery, four fluted glass panels framed in MS frame have been placed exuding a glamorous touch to the whole set up. The son’s bedroom was hugely inspired by science fiction and technologies. ‘Steampunk’, a subgenre of science fiction and fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery was kept in hindsight. Also for the daughter’s room, a relatively unique concept was implemented. ‘French Riviera’- a Mediterranean coastline in the southeast corner of France is where all the inspiration was derived from. Elements of brick painted walls with rustic veneer used gave a happening & fresh vibe, perfectly reflecting the theme.

A room should feel collected not decorated marks correctly through the set-up of wall frame. It states the modern day contemporary and a glance of vintage look amidst the frames settled in this space. Artwork is always a part of any space including this one. The client really appreciated and understood art, so we used different forms of artwork in different areas of the house, depending on the theme and  concept of that particular space.
